Energy-saving controls

Window coverage

The app reads window rectangles once per polling cycle (default: 1 second) and calculates coverage per display without double-counting overlaps. Full-screen, maximized and side-by-side windows are included. This is an estimate, not a pixel-perfect transparency measurement or screenshot analysis.

Pause and resume thresholds

Adjust coverage from 1–100% using a slider or number. New settings default to 90% coverage. A resume margin prevents repeated pausing at the boundary. A display can use the common rule or its own override.

Battery and still images

On a fresh installation, pausing on battery is enabled with an 80% threshold: pause while on battery at or below 80%. Older saved settings are preserved. Low Power Mode, heat, screen lock, sleep and manual pause are separate causes. If battery capacity is unavailable while on battery, the app pauses conservatively. When playback buffers are released, a source-resolution first-frame PNG is used, not an enlarged library thumbnail.

Processing still uses power

AI and composition tasks do not automatically replace or stop the existing wallpaper. Normal pause rules still apply. Lower frame-rate/resolution limits or a static image can reduce load; no zero-power or fixed battery-life claim is made.
